But none of these apps will tell you about the quality of the tarmac in the next downhill, the traffic expected depending on the day of the week, or even where you can find facilities like toilets/shops in remote areas. We have ridden our trip routes many times and we are constantly updating our knowledge base with the best tips to make our guests’ experience memorable.

You’ll get to sample authentic local food and traditional snacks that aren’t always easy to find, as well as getting insights in the local communities we visit.

I’ve recently returned from completing the Mae Hong Son Loop. I didn’t know much about the cycling in Thailand when I booked, it was really just an add on to a work trip. I have to say I was amazed how good it was! The quality of the roads were incredible, drivers were respectful and not in a hurry, scenery was stunning and the climbing was out of this world. Luis and the team at Cycling Chiang Mai were brilliant, great crew and so well organised, even washed the bike and lubed the chain each day if required!
I’ve done cycling tours to France, Italy and the US and Chiang Mai is right up there. Already planning a return trip in ’24! BTW goes without saying the food and beer were excellent too!

Luis and the team at Cycling Chiang Mai were amazing! Every little thing that was provided made a super hard route a pleasure to keep pushing on the pedals. This is my second Mae Hong Son loop adventure with Cycling Chiang Mai and returning customers are always a great indication of the service level provided. I recently completed the Mae Hong Son loop with Cycling Chiang Mai.
The trip exceeded all expectations, both the quality of the riding and especially the level of support and service. The tour was well organized with stops at the best hotels available in each location, the meals were delicious, authentic Thai cuisine, and the snacks from the van included local sticky rice delicacies, fresh each day, and most importantly the crew were professional, friendly and fun.
It is a tough course, but with the excellent support provided, even the steepest hills were manageable. Many thanks to Luis and the team for a memorable trip.

Ever wanted to feel like a pro, this whole experience was the best bike riding experience of my life.
The beautiful scenery, the support on the climbs with snacks and drinks and during the ride we had enough breaks to really take in the country!
We did the Mae Hong Son loop which culminated in climbing Doi Inthanon to the roof of Thailand. A real challenge not be taken lightly but with some training very doable! Luis and Game shared a lot around Thai culture, food and are very passionate around cycling loved riding with them for a week!.

It was a wonderful bike ride experience. I enjoyed the scenery along the road and the weather in Chiang Mai was amazing. The routes were challenging enough for us to further practice our skills. Luis, Beer and Game took great care of us throughout the journey. I am grateful for having them to be with us everyday in this trip. It is because of the cultural differences, I would appreciate if we could have more non spicy and not so much deep fried food in the menu. Other than that, everything else was fabulous. Done the most amazing climbs that tested the legs, fast sweeping descends & stunning views through northern Thailand. The Mae Hon Son Loop Challenge is an incredible adventure with superb guide and riding mates from Cycling Chiang Mai's Luis & Game.
Learnt so much from both on how to ride this route and also sharing experiences. The coffee stops and tasty local Thai cuisine was a bonus. Definitely a bucket list for cyclists.
